ART Grand Prix is happy to confirm that Yaroslav Veselaho will step up to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) with the team in the upcoming 2024 season.
The young driver from Ukraine has had an atypical career to date, one that did not see him sharpen his racing craft in the karting championships. Instead, Yaroslav is a rising talent in the international drifting scenes, when in 2020, he became the youngest Ukrainian drift champion.
Two years later, he took part in the Drift Masters European Championship and rejoined the Winfield Racing School. Last season, at 18 years of age, Yaroslav chose to shift his focus to single-seaters and made his debut in the French F4 Championship when he secured his first points in Pau.
Yaroslav Veselaho:
“I feel very lucky and honored to be joining ART Grand Prix, as they are one of the top teams in motorsport with a rich and diverse history. During my initial test days they made me feel at home right away and I’m learning so much from them every day. The winter tests were very beneficial and helpful and I believe we have a strong package and great potential for the upcoming season. I can’t wait to participate in the FRECA championship, which is now one of the most challenging and prestigious series’ in the world. As a Ukrainian, I’m also very proud to be representing my country on the international stage. I carry the Ukrainian flag in my heart and dedicate all my efforts to future success.”
Sébastien Philippe:
“Yaroslav’s original career has enabled him to acquire some great skills and car control, and his competitive spirit has taken him to the highest level of a formative discipline, drifting. In FRECA with ART Grand Prix, he will have the opportunity to perfect his talent in single-seaters and climb the ladder of a highly selective championship.”
