ART Grand Prix is pleased to welcome Charlie Wurz into their family to drive one of its three single-seaters in the European Regional Formula Championship by Alpine in 2023.
The 17-year-old Austrian driver developed his talent in karting, a discipline where he was two times Austrian champion. In 2022, Charlie concluded his first full single-seater season with the Formula 4 United Arab Emirates title together with finishing 4th in Italian F4 and taking several podiums in German and Spanish F4.
This year, Charlie leads the Formula Regional Oceania Championship with 2 wins and 4 podiums to his name. During his young motorsport career, the Austrian has finished on the podium a third of the time.
Charlie Wurz:
“I am delighted to join ART Grand Prix for the upcoming 2023 championship season. It is a team with great experience and a track record that is worth more than words can express. I can’t wait to learn from them! After driving with the team over the winter, I am looking forward to continuing our collective work throughout the year”.
Sébastien Philippe:
“Charlie is entering his second full year in motorsport, but he already has a lot of experience through racing in several renowned championships. In particular, he has the experience of winning and managing a championship after being champion in F4 and currently leading the Formula Regional Oceania championship. As he confirmed during the winter tests, Charlie has all he needs to be a premium asset in the ART Grand Prix structure in his quest for a new title in the European Formula Regional Championship by Alpine”.
