ART Grand Prix is delighted to continue its collaboration with Christian Lundgaard for a third consecutive year. The young Danish Alpine Academy driver will be attempting to add Formula 2 to his track record, which is already rich in numerous titles and victories in karting as well as in single-seater racing.
In his first year in the discipline in 2018, he was the Formula Renault Eurocup runner-up at the age of 17, he then finished 2019 in 6th place in F3 and was the best rookie in the category. Starting out in F2 last year, he once again demonstrated the extent of his talent with two wins and six podiums in the F1 feeder championship.
Christian Lundgaard:
“2020 was my rookie year in the FIA Formula 2, which is the series just under Formula 1. I’ve learned a lot on and off track. It was a tough year in terms of results in the end, but we had more podiums than we had in 2019 in F3. It shows us that with everything put together we can make it work and that’s why we are still here together. We believe in each other and we want the same thing. I need to thank everyone involved to make it possible to compete on such level with such a team. Thank you everybody!”.
Sébastien Philippe:
“Christian’s natural talent once again exploded in F2, he put in some very strong performances. Already during the first weekend in Austria, he impressed by setting the fourth fastest time in qualifying, even though he was unable to take part in the interseason tests in Bahrain. Three weekends before the end of the championship, he was in the race for the title, but the last two races cost us dearly. In 2021, Christian will have all the assets he needs to fight for the title.”
