ART Grand Prix is delighted to confirm a third year of collaboration with Théo Pourchaire where he will continue in the FIA Formula 2 championship.
After shining on the national and international karting stages, Théo concluded his first full season in single-seaters on a high note by winning the ADAC F4 in 2019, at just 16 years of age. The following year saw the ART Grand Prix / Théo tandem fighting for the FIA Formula 3 title all the way until the last race as the young Frenchman became the youngest race winner in F3 history.
In 2021, Théo took another step forward by joining the Formula 2 ranks where he showed talent and brilliance in his first season, securing several victories and podium finishes. His win in Monaco saw him become the youngest Formula 2 winner, at just 17 years, 9 months and 2 days of age.
Théo has been a member of the French Motor Sport Federation FFSA since 2017 and was also recruited by the Sauber Academy in 2019 where he made his debut in a Formula 1 car during a test session last season.
Théo Pourchaire:
“I am proud to be continuing in F2 with ART Grand in 2022. It’s an honor for me to work with such a great team. This will be our third year together and it has become like family to me. To continue with them in the pre-cursor to F1 is very exciting. I would like to thank the Sauber Academy for accompanying me once again. It will be a busy year and I want to have fun and gain experience for my future. We are more determined than ever and we will be aiming for the F2 title”.
Sébastien Philippe:
“Continuing our adventure together makes sense! Théo has shown the range of his talents and there are many of them, both in individual terms and athletic ability. His motivation and determination are in tune with that of ART Grand Prix and winter preparation is going well. When you know that you have all the assets on your side, there is only one thing you can aim for, the title!”.
